I found him twice yesterday, while questing with a new character. First time was in Zehlon Reach, very near the Suspicious Hermit and his pet (and what's up with those two as well?).

Then I saw him in the First City later. I'll have to keep an eye out for him in the Bog and Keys when I get there.

i found his location in keys and in bog

keys he is on the outline edge on your map follow the edge east and you will see a rock above the rock is a island.....hes staring at that island

in Bog he is south west in that swamp staring at a wall......

for some reason he stares at the same exact point in every place

also saw a cultist bowing i looked in his direction.......nothing

the staring, could be cantha.....

After speaking with the tread op, I have reopened this and deleted all the off topic babble

Please remember the main focus of this thread is speaking about the NPC called Bahltek, who now has a GuildWiki page.

There is some rumors floating about chapter 4 which sent this thread off topic, so please don't get into that again.

Currently it unknown if this NPC is just random, or maybe part of a quest that was never added ingame.

We don't mind fun speculation on the forums, but please remember if things start to go widly off topic with people just coming up with all sorts of ideas not related to the NPC or just plain silly rumor spreads the thread maybe closed again.

Even the op has agreed to this.

So if anyone spots him ANYWERE on the continent of Elona, or if another NPC makes any reference to Bahltek or whatever he says, please put up any screens or anything to help further flesh out that GuildWiki page ^^ It is tempting to post speculations connecting the NPC to the fourth campaign, and as long as they are directly tied to what Bahltek says and consequent posts don't draw off to talking about Chp. 4, then those *should* be okay.

But for right now, lets just focus on getting the information and finding out where Bahltek appears and what he says.

I tried finding him last night with two Tyrian born characters, and he never spawned.

So.... to all those who have found him....Where was your character born?

I have found him in all four known locations on Istan with my Tyrian born warrior.

In Zehlon Reach he faces to the North, out to sea.
In Fahranar he also faces to the North, towards the flooded room where the Apocrypha spawns.
In Mehtani Keys he faces SouthWest out to sea.
In Lahtenda Bog he also faces southwest.

I couldn't find him until I did them in order: Zehlon, Fahranar, Lahtenda, Mehtani.

FYI: My girl carries all the Gwen quest items, and Bahltek did nothing unusual.

Well Elona is south of tyria...so I wonder if he's looking toward tyria when he's looking north.

don't know where cantha is in terms of direction from tyria or elona so that mysterious southern direction could be for either chapter four or cantha..or he just likes looking at water o_o

@Carinae: i'm not sure if there is an order because I first spotted him in Mehtani on my ele. of course i had *been* to those places before that but I never talked with him. But then again, my ele is Elonian.

I couldn't find him on my sin in Zehlon though o_o

Hmm, I vaguely remember encountering this guy on one of my toons who's progressed through the game. Interesting.

Maybe he would reveal more information to someone who has a Spearmarshal title, or Holy Lightbringer, or koabd. I wonder if a different dialogue would trigger if an "important" character engaged in a conversation with him, with one of the aforementioned titles active.

Ahh, This is strange. Many things relate to lore. I wont spread rumors though, that would be unnecessary.

I went out to Zehlon as well, with the KoaBD title active, and had the same happen, nothing special. I imagine the same results will probably yield for a Holy Lightbringer.

So... after the progression on the island (all four sightings), has anyone checked to see if he'll show up on the mainland? Perhaps there's a sighting sequence beyond the four.

Well I finally took screens of the dialogue that I got from the Keys [yes i finally found him again with my Monk >_<!] But obviously order does not play a role since i haven't encountered him in any other places. I'd post screens but the dialogue is already on guildwiki.

the only thing guildwiki doesn't show is the map to where he is..which i did take a screen of cept i forgot to do it on the big map xD;; oh well.

and if he DOES show up on the mainland...aieee that's a lot of ground to cover

i was reading the thread on GWOnline about Bahltek (though i started it first :P interestingly enough the title of the thread is "Mysterious NPC" xD) and they went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay deep into it o_o i had to stop though cos it really started going into the lore of world(s) of GW o.o

I agree that order doesn't matter. I thought it might because he wouldn't appear for my monk until I tried them in order. When I did that he appeared consecutively at each of the latter spots.

However, Carinae visited him out of order in Lathenda Bog yesterday, after 94874639 runs out there looking for him, he finally appeared. Car has never found him in Faharnur. This time she had R6 LB active, again nothing different.

Visitation Order - nixed
Titles - nixed
Gwen items - nixed

You know, he rarely spawns....maybe we should record the times he has appeared. Maybe he only appears at certain times of the day.

Hm, well thanks to my screencapping and wonderful "Date Modified" information, I caught Bahltek at the keys on Monday at around 11 P.M. Central Time. I haven't tried looking for him at the other places..mainly because the only other "map" to him was Faharnur I think.

uhm...well from my screens it seems normal to me, well as normal of a reflection as you can get in the water

After looking through my screens i noticed that in the Keys, by the spot where he is, there are two ships: the one in the water that's just floating and the one that ran aground and is where the corsairs our.

the one in the water looks pretty "ghostly" if you ask me: the sails are ragged, the colors dulled, and it just looks old.

but that's just me. probably a normal corsair ship but meh iunno. there's a piece of the Jade Sea with the broken ship and if you think about it, the Jade Sea is more of a mirror sorta...but iunno. He's talking about mirrors and water and raah
